Users: How to Create, Import, and Manage User Accounts

Users are the individuals who access your B2B Dashboard, take courses, and belong to teams. The Users section provides tools for managing user accounts, creating Thinkific accounts, importing users, and viewing detailed user information.

Accessing Users

Navigate to Admin > Users in the sidebar. The Users page displays a table with the following columns:

  • Name — The user's full name
  • Email — The user's email address
  • Thinkific ID — The user's ID in the connected Thinkific platform
  • Created At — When the user account was created
  • Actions — Available actions for each user, including impersonation

Filtering and Searching

Use the search bar to find users by name or email. The table supports column-based sorting by clicking column headers.

Adding Users

Creating a New User

  1. Click the Add User button
  2. Enter the user's name and email address
  3. Assign the user to one or more teams
  4. Select initial role assignments
  5. Click Save

The user will receive a welcome email with instructions to set their password and access the dashboard.

Creating a Thinkific Account

For users who need access to the Thinkific platform for course management:

  1. Click the Create Thinkific Account button for the user
  2. Confirm the action
  3. A Thinkific account is created and linked to the user's dashboard profile

CSV Upload

To bulk import users:

  1. Click the CSV Upload button
  2. Download the CSV template if needed
  3. Prepare your CSV file with user data (name, email, team assignments)
  4. Upload the file and map columns
  5. Review the parsed data and confirm the import

The CSV upload creates user accounts and can optionally assign them to teams during import.

Viewing User Details

Click a user's name to open their detail view, organized into tabs:

Profile Tab

  • View and edit user information (name, email)
  • Manage account status
  • Reset password if needed

Enrollments Tab

Shows all course enrollments for this user:

  • Course name and enrollment date
  • Progress and completion status
  • Option to add or remove enrollments

Quizzes Tab

Displays quiz results:

  • Quiz name and associated course
  • Score and pass/fail status
  • Number of attempts
  • Date completed

Teams Tab

Lists all teams the user belongs to:

  • Team name and role within each team
  • Add the user to additional teams
  • Remove the user from teams

Groups Tab

Shows Thinkific groups the user is a member of:

  • Group name and sync status
  • Sync direction (Bidirectional, Dashboard-to-Thinkific, Thinkific-to-Dashboard)

Impersonating a User

Administrators can impersonate users for troubleshooting and support:

  1. Locate the user in the Users table
  2. Click the Impersonate button in the Actions column
  3. You will be logged in as that user, seeing exactly what they see
  4. A banner at the top indicates you are in impersonation mode
  5. Click Leave Impersonation to return to your admin account

All impersonation sessions are logged for audit purposes.
