How does a student set their password for Thinkific in WooCommerce?
When a user purchases a course in WooCommerce, and their Thinkific account is created by the WooCommerce plugin, there are two options:
Express Link – The user will be sent a link which, when clicked, they can set their password. This link can be sent by Thinkific in their welcome email or by WooCommerce (See our other documentation for details)
Password Reset – The WooCommerce plugin will set a random and secure password, the student will need to reset their password on Thinkific before they can access their course. The welcome email sent by WooCommerce includes information for the student on how to complete this process.
Can a student log into Thinkific with the same password they log into WordPress?
The only way this is possible is if they reset their password in WordPress after their account is created in Thinkific, and you have enabled the option to sync passwords. If you are using Thinkific Plus, or have Single Single On (SSO) available on your Thinkific plan, consider using our Thinkific SSO plugin.
Note, it is not possible to update the users password in WordPress if they change their password in Thinkific. Therefore, we recommend promoting that each user maintain a separate password for WordPress and Thinkific, or use Single Single On (SSO) with Thinkific Plus.
